San Francisco Urban Institute
Spring 2019 UC Berkeley — advised by Roddy Creedon
Alongside office space, flexible meeting space, and a lecture hall, this building contains the permanent exhibition space for a 1:1200 scale model of the city of San Francisco. As a building about the city, the urban institute reflects a specific reading of it — a collection of discrete yet related parts which compose a whole. Openings in the translucent envelope invite in direct natural light. Rigidly defined but permeable spaces create moments of doubled interiority.
Displayed in the CED Fall 2019 Exhibit at Wurster Hall.
